The romantic musical Crazy For You was billed as The New Gershwin Musical Comedy when it was first performed on Broadway in 1992. The musical’s lyrics and music were by brothers Ira and George Gershwin, respectively, and the book was written by Ken Ludwig. The production’s first run lasted a total of 1,622 performances and earned critical success. After Broadway, Crazy For You was staged in West End and Sao Paulo.

Set in the theatrical world, Crazy For You revolves around the romantic exploits of Bobby Child, a frustrated dancer and the son of a rich banker; Polly Baker, the daughter of a theater owner whose property is facing foreclosure; the cast and crew of the Zangler theater in New York; and citizens of Deadrock in Nevada, a mining town that has clearly seen better days. Bobby, with the help of the talented people from Zangler Theater and Deadrock, attempt to save his budding romance with Polly, and the town from succumbing to another spell of boredom and dreariness.
