Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ornery ogre named Shrek whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. He makes a deal with King Farquaad who says he’ll remove the fairytale creatures if he goes and rescues the beautiful Princess Fiona. Accompanying him on his mission is wisecracking Donkey, who will do anything for Shrek… except be quiet. Rescuing the Princess does not come easily. Shrek must fight a fire breathing dragon. He manages to get her away from the dragon but his troubles are far from over. Shrek and Fiona fall in love on their journey back to Farquaad and luckily in the end they live happily ever after leaving behind a very angry King.
